This Year's Project: Every Child Deserves a Voice
CASA Connection is the local Court Appointed Special Advocate program covering Platte and Colfax Counties. CASA Connection recruits, screens, trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate in the best interest of abused and neglected children that have been removed from thier homes and placed in foster care. Our CASA volunteer advocates offer judges the critical information they need to ensure each childs rights and needs are being met while in foster care.
Current Project: Every Child Deserves a Voice
Our goal is to advocate for 100% of the abused/neglected children referred to our program by the juvenile courts. The funds we raise May 10th will help fill in some gaps in funding. Foster children have the same needs as other children. Things like Drivers Education, school/college supplies, clothing, waterpark passes...things that parents usually pay for, but in the case of these children that is not an option. We have funding to help the children with these needs, as well as other needs, but sometimes the funding runs out before the need. The money raised through the Big Give would allow us to stretch the funding and provide for all of the childrens needs.
